You will be required to support a 97 year old lady, who has limited hearing, anxiety and short term memory loss, but is mobile with some support.
You will be required to support the lady with all aspects of her personal care. This will include washing and dressing her. You must also be willing to cover the other carers during their holiday periods where possible.
The successful candidate(s) must be willing to be introduced to the role gradually over a short period of time to build up to the hours desirably starting in August to then begin the role formally on 1st September 2017. This will be discussed in more detail at the interview.
You will need to have relevant previous experience of working in this field of work and hold an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, as a minimum.
You will also need to have relevant training in recognising and dealing with characteristics of Dementia.
The right candidate must also be kind, calm, gentle and patient; be reliable, have a good eye for detail and have a good sense of humour.
The times required will be 7am until 9am, 11.30 until 12.30pm, 4pm until 5pm and 7pm until 7.45pm. There is a possibility for some extra hours on occasions during the day
