A Female Personal Assistant is required to support a young lady who has Muscular dystrophy. She is a wheelchair user and lives independently.
The role will require you to support with all personal care tasks; including washing, showering and toileting. You will also be required to use a hoist for all transfers and will also need to use a nippy ventilator and cough assist (training will be provided).
You will be required to prepare meals and on occasion, may need to support with feeding too. In addition, you will carry out some domestic tasks, such as helping to keep the bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy and occasionally do some washing. Furthermore, you will also be required to support with social inclusion and to take the client out and about into the community. This may include going to the cinema, or to a pub. On occasion, this may also include going away on holiday.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience in a similar field of work, but this is not essential as training will be provided on the job.
You will require a full clean driving licence and must be willing to use the employers own car for trips out.
The role is for one waking night per week on a Wednesday 10pm- 7am (9 hours) and to cover holiday of the other two staff, as and when required which could cover any daytime hours and/ or waking nights Monday-Friday.
