We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing person to provide support for a 13 year old girl to enable her to access a range of social and recreational activities within the community such as shopping and going horse riding.
She is a wheelchair user but is able to walk short distances with her walking frame.
To help the young lady develop her independence skills and accompany her to various activities including social, volunteering, leisure or sport, and be a source of support.
To support with transfers e.g. in and out of a car (she does not require hoists).
She may require support with personal care at times.
You must be a calm, friendly, supportive person with a good sense of humour
Previous experience in a related field would be an advantage but not essential.
Car owner and full valid driving license preferred (business insurance required) as you will be required to transport the young lady in your own vehicle. Occasionally public transport could be used.
Be flexible, hours of work may change from week to week, this will be with mutual agreement with the employer and employee.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered)
To be agreed on a weekly basis with successful candidate.
Saturday or Sunday
More flexibility may be required during the summer holidays but notice will be provided.
