Personal Assistants can now book a vaccine appointment by calling Nottinghamshire County Council Customer Service Centre on 0300 500 8080 Option 0 (Monday to Friday during office hours).
NHS Test and Trace is making twice-weekly Covid-19 testing available to personal assistants working in adult social care in England. PAs are eligible if they provide care that requires them to come within 2 metres of an adult over the age of 18 who they support.
PAs are now asked to access lateral flow Covid testing kits and to not continue to weekly test using the PCR kit, please see link below for details on how to order them:
If a PA tests positive, they must infom their employer straight away and self-isolate and apply for a PCR test.
PAs should continue to follow all infection prevention and control measures such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), washing their hands and socially distancing where possible even if they and/or their employer has had the vaccine.
Nottinghamshire County Council is advising all staff who have had the vaccine should still continue to participate in routine testing.

It is inevitable that some people's mental health will suffer as a result of their experience of the coronavirus pandemic. This might be through anxiety of potential harm, the impacts of feeling more isolated or trauma caused from surviving or caring for people with Covid-19. Locally, there are three psychological therapy services, each providing free NHS talking therapies and support for people with anxiety, depression and other mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Should anyone working in a care home or other care setting, caring for people in the community or delivering support to vulnerable people feel that they, or someone they support would benefit from these services (known as IATPT), they are currently operating via telephone and video-link and are open to self-referrals by contacting them directly.
