Social Care Activity Pack - Get Yourself Active

A new interactive pack to help carers, support workers and personal assistants to support more disabled people to be active has been launched by Get Yourself Active. The Social Care Activity Pack aims to help people have more conversations about physical activity whilst providing ideas about how to build in activity into everyday activities.  The pack is also suitable for family carers - it is targeted at supporting adults but can be adapted to working with children.

Please download the activity pack and find out more through our website:

New crisis sanctuaries to provide mental health support in Nottinghamshire

On 16th February 2021, four crisis sanctuaries were launched in Mansfield, Worksop and Nottingham (two) with a further three opening across the county in the coming weeks. They will support anyone aged 18 or over in a crisis or who needs support with their mental health and offer pratical and emotional support in a safe, warm and welcoming environment. Delivered by a strong charity and voluntary partnership (Framework, Harmless, Turning Point and Mind), the sanctuaries will complement the Trust's support for people in mental health crisis, which includes local crisis resolution teams, a 24/7 crisis line and a street triage team. For more information, please visit the Crisis Sanctuary website: https://www.turning-point.co.uk/services/mental-health/crisis-support/nottingham-crisis-sanctuaries

Mental Health Awareness: Insight Health Care

It is inevitable that some people's mental health will suffer as a result of their experience of the coronavirus pandemic. This might be through anxiety of potential harm, the impacts of feeling more isolated or trauma caused from surviving or caring for people with Covid-19. Locally, there are three psychological therapy services, each providing free NHS talking therapies and support for people with anxiety, depression and other mild to moderate mental health difficulties.  Should anyone working in a care home or other care setting, caring for people in the community or delivering support to vulnerable people feel that they, or someone they support would benefit from these services (known as IATPT), they are currently operating via telephone and video-link and are open to self-referrals by contacting them directly.

Insight Health Care (or call 0300 555 5582) – available throughout Nottinghamshire.
