We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support a very happy, gentle, and easy-going young man with autism and a learning disability.

He has a particular love of animals and enjoys opportunities to spend time around them and engage in activities that reflect his interests. The successful applicant will support him to access his local community, enjoy meaningful activities, and develop his confidence, independence, and life skills in a safe and positive way.

We are seeking someone who is patient, caring, and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting people to achieve their goals and enjoy new experiences. A positive attitude and person-centred approach are essential.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship.
Young man already has school runs sorted so this support is more social eventually

The individual's needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately and to report defects or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure. Costs will be covered.

Transport requirement

Car driver preferred but not essential.
