We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Personal Assistant/Mentor to join a small, friendly team supporting an active young autistic man in his own home.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys making a genuine difference whilst supporting independence and promoting an active lifestyle.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting autistic adults
  • Is self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Is energetic, active and enjoys the outdoors

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own vehicle with valid insurance
  • Willing to drive during shifts
  • Two satisfactory references
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Is reliable, flexible and punctual
  • Enjoys building positive working relationships
  • Can work well within a small team
  • Completing overnight sleep-in shifts as part of a 24-hour shift pattern

About the role

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship.
* Supporting access to the local community. * Encouraging independence and confidence. * Supporting with daily living activities. * Supporting hobbies and activities. * Providing companionship and mentoring.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over for this role.
  • You may be required to work more than 48 hours per week.
  • Shifts may start before or finish after 10pm.

The individual's needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately and to report defects or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Transport requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.
