We are a busy and vibrant household looking for a Personal Assistant to support a 43 year old lady with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) to continue living independently with her husband, who also has disabilities, and their lively son. We enjoy good conversation, watching crime dramas and Coronation Street, sharing a nice cup of tea, listening to all kinds of music, gaming, and getting creative with arts and crafts. We are looking for someone who will fit comfortably into our family home and become a valued part of our daily life. The role will include assisting with transfers, dressing, household tasks, and the many unexpected things that can arise during the day. The ideal person will be reliable, flexible, open-minded, and have a good sense of humour. A little quirkiness and a positive attitude would fit perfectly into our household. If you enjoy working in a friendly family environment and helping someone maintain their independence, we would love to hear from you.
The individual's needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately and to report defects or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure. Costs will be covered.
Car driver preferred but not essential.
Successful candidates are required to undertake any training considered necessary and appropriate to the role.
