I am an 18 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy and SLD (Specific Learning Disability). I live with my Mum and Step-Dad and friendly cats. I am very friendly, affable and enjoy many activities including the Cinema, Swimming, attending youth groups and listening to music like day to remember. I like to be around friendly and chatty people and enjoy company. My mobility is good over short distances and for longer distances I use my wheelchair. I make my own choices, where limited options are given to me.
I will require you to support with the following duties:
I will need to be transported and supported with transferring on occasions, using your own vehicle
Maintain my personal safety and manage risks when it comes to things like money management, using escalators or approaching curbs and vulnerability around strangers
My needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You may be required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to your role.
The person I am looking will be experienced in working with individuals with a learning disability and some Autism awareness would be desirable.
I would like to work with someone who is friendly and chatty, be patient and provide flexibility.
Car Owner and full driving licence essential (business insurance required), you will be required to take me out in the community. (Mileage paid).

*This is a casual post; support is required before and after school times. Hours are to be worked during the week. Shifts could be either 7.30am-9.00am or 3pm-6pm, but will be by arrangement with your employer, depending on need, so flexibility is required.
