I am looking to employ a Personal assistant or assistants to support me with my life style and daily living tasks. I live in my own home with my family and need support to enable me to live as independently as possible and fulfil my aspirations.
Knowledge of my condition will be useful but not essential.
The position will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
As my home address is in a rural area you may need access to a vehicle to attend work- details of local transport facilities can be supplied when available
Your specific responsibilities will depend on the hours you work and what part of my daily routine this covers.
For example you may be asked to:
Support me on my engagements, this year personal assistant will need to support me twice weekly to Warwick
Support me to take my Son to and collect from School-30 minutes per day.
Undertake and support me with household duties
Write clear notes in the daily diary using professional and respectful language and report any accidents
Communicate appropriately with me and any other individual highlighted by me
Be mindful of Health and Safety matters and responsible for my welfare and yours
Be prepared to undertake training,
Treat my home with care and respect
Listen patiently and respectfully
Carry out any other reasonable requests I may make
To respect my privacy whilst being aware of the need for confidentiality in all aspects of your work
Assist me with my correspondence and administrative tasks
The ideal candidate or candidates may need to be adaptable and flexible with working times and hours and be able to react to shift changes to cover my needs.
There will be morning and evening shifts, so employer will look at specific shift pattern requests.
Experience of working in the care sector is desirable but not necessary, as training can be provided
You must be of a caring nature
Be flexible, accepting that working hours that can be prone to variation as and when my condition dictates.
Be willing to help where possible to cover for a shift in an emergency
Reliable, punctual and take responsibility in all your tasks
Be capable of taking instructions from me.
Be capable of using your time efficiently around the house when I am not in need of personal support
Be honest and trustworthy in all your undertakings
Be capable of confidentiality, privacy and respectful towards all team members
Be well mannered and discreet
Communicate with thoughtfulness and clarity and be a patient listener
Learn to be aware of how my physical needs change and my energy levels fluctuate
Have a positive and encouraging mind-set
Be a non-smoker whilst at work
Enable me to be independent and respect my personal space.
Post 1: School run 30 minutes to an hour support alongside me (to be completed between 08.00-09.00)
Post 2:1 hour support (to be completed between 09.00-10.30)
