I’m a 34-years old man living in my own property in the Eastern Green area. I enjoy a good social life locally and have a wide range of academic and social interests. I require support to assist me with all activities of daily living. I use a motorised wheelchair at all times.

My needs may vary from day-to-day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You may be required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to your role, e.g. moving and handling.
I’m supported by other long-standing PAs so you’ll be expected to fit in and be a team player.
You must be patient, understanding and calm. If you have experience of working with people who have restricted mobility, this would be advantageous but it’s not essential.
You will be reliable and possess good timekeeping skills. With regard to working arrangements, flexibility is essential.
You will be confident, calm and empathetic and seek to enable me to live as independently as possible.
You will need to respect my privacy and demonstrate understanding of the need for confidentiality.
Moving and Handling training is mandatory and will be provided by the employer to the successful applicant.
You must be a minimum age of 18 as you will be required to administer medication, work shifts before 6am and after 10pm and on occasion work more than 40hrs per week.
It is preferable that you have a full driving licence, but this is not essential.

*Single shift runs from midday one day to midday the next day, i.e. 24hrs.
Immediate start. Initially one shift required per fortnight but possibly rising to two shifts. (Rota is fortnightly.) Days on which shifts are worked can be negotiated at interview but it is envisaged these are every Sunday midday to midday Monday.
