About the Employer

I am a 56 year old lady with mobility difficulties looking to recruit a personal assistant to support me in my own home. I use a powered wheelchair.

I have dogs and cats so you must be ok with working around animals.


Summary of Duties

I will need assistance with the following;

  • getting ready in the morning
  • all aspects of personal care
  • help with household chores this will include using household cleaning products e.g. bleach
  • help with my mobility and getting out in the community

 

I may require someone to drive me to medical appointments in Leicester and Nottinghamshire.

To support me to prepare my medication, no support will be required to administer my medication.

I will provide shadow shifts to help develop your skills and confidence

You may be requested to cover sick leave and holiday leave

You will be expected to develop and maintain a personal one to one close working relationship.

 

My needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You may be required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to your role.


The Person They Are Looking For

The person I am looking will be someone with a positive outlook on life and feels comfortable with personal care duties.

Someone who has had a similar role previous would be beneficial, however not essential as training is provided.

This post may suit someone who has their own transport because I live in a rural area.

You should respect my privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Full driving licence is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer’s vehicle for insurance purposes you must be a minimum age of 25.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).’


The Times Required

This post is to provide Maternity Cover for 1 year in duration, to begin in November

 

*The starting hourly rate is £8.50 per hour rising to £9.00 after 3 month probationary period. Time and a half on Sundays, double time on bank holidays. And 5 weeks holiday pro rata.

 

The working days and times are:

 

Thursday 9.30-18.00 every week

 

Alternate weeks:
 

Friday 9.30-18.00  

Saturday 9.30-18.00  

Sunday 10-16.00   

 

Working days and times will be discussed further at interview.
