I am very anxious in new situations/places and with new people; I like routines and to know exactly what to expect in advance when doing something new. I have autism and selective mutism, it takes a while for me to feel comfortable talking to new people, but when I do, I can be very talkative and funny. I am sensitive to noise, lights, touch, and smells. I don’t like noisy, crowded places. I have chronic migraine and overwhelming sensory environments can trigger headaches. I love knitting, crochet, cross stitch, and other crafts. I also like animal crossing, alternative Japanese fashion, fairies, and collecting toys.

The person I am looking for
The ability to work on a one-to-one basis. The ability to work flexibly to ensure continuity of service. The ability to empower me in reaching my full potential in all aspects of independent daily living. The ability to communicate effectively with me, whether verbally or non-verbally. The ability to take responsibility for my wellbeing and safety. The ability to participate in events, activities and experiences which involve me in the local community. The ability to cope under pressure and in stressful situations whilst maintaining security and stability for me. To be reliable, punctual, and honest. To possess a full clean driving licence and be able to drive a car for use in taking me between my home and various other locations. To always demonstrate respect and dignity. Someone who enjoys doing creative things. Someone who is open-minded and nonjudgemental. Knowledge of autism, OCD, selective mutism, and ARFID would be helpful, but not essential as we can give support with that. Someone who is friendly and comfortable with leading a conversation. Can be patient with me as I am often easily overwhelmed.
