Support Worker

Location: Snitterfileld Near Stratford-Upon-Avon, West Midlands
Hourly Rate of pay: £12.50- 13.50 per hour Plus petrol allowance for trips
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours per week: 7 hours ( 4 hr and 3hr sessions) available on Thursdays. 10-14.00 Every other Saturday, 10.00 -13.00 Every other Sunday.
Applicants must be 25 years of age or over.

About the Employer

JOB SHARE CONSIDERED. Would you like to gain experience in Autism, communication and sensory needs? You could be part of an experienced team of PA’s, providing support for two gentle adult brothers, who varying in their range of abilities. Applicants need to be friendly, protective and help to ensure each young man makes the most of daily life. • Someone who provides positive company and enjoys visiting National Trust properties, going for drives, walks, watching birds, picnics, shopping, leisure-centre based activities, cafes and music. • A person who can encourage and support in daily living skills/routines • To physically help where the skill base has yet to develop e.g. making snacks/lunch, personal care when needed and enabling each to keep personal spaces clean and tidy. • To be a good mentor • A car driver, with own car and business insurance • To be able to communicate well with both young men and other PA’s. • Keep records and attended training sessions Experience in caring would be an advantage but more importantly we need someone who is kind, observant and has a willingness to understand and help us. As a successful applicant you would be eased into the role with training and support from other PA’s. DBS check and references will be necessary before any 1-1 sessions could commence.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.

Only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

Required Training
Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.

Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.
