About the Employer

I am looking for an enthusiastic and kind natured individual to help support my son over the weekends and school holidays mainly to enable myself and partner to have a short break from our caring role. He is an 8 year old child who has a diagnosis of Autism and lives with his Dad and I (Mum) in Whaplode. He was diagnosed with Autism aged 4 years old. His diagnosis means that he has a high level of sensory need and anxiety based behaviours that require his home and school environment to be set up to meet these needs. If the environment around him is too bright/loud/noisy or his day to day routine changes then he can quickly become overwhelmed and demonstrate physical behaviour and become emotionally distressed and unregulated. He is non-verbal, with a limited use of makaton or PECs communication, is doubly incontinent, has little awareness of safety of risk, and is fully reliant on his us to meet all his basic care needs.
