I am the employer and mother to my daughter who has been allocated a direct payment to enable her to access social activities within the community with the support of a PA. My daughter has a diagnosis of Autism, Epilepsy, learning disabilities and has limited speech. She can communicate through single words and small phrases. However this is on her own terms, She is also able to communicate what she wants through hand over hand, gestures and facial expressions. My daughter wears nappies and will require support and prompt personal care. My daughter has limited communication or danger awareness which makes her extremely vulnerable, she will need someone who will be able to always supervise her and provide activities that offer stimulation. My daughter has a lovely nature, she is extremely sociable and has a friendly personality and great sense of humour. She enjoys the company of adults and 1-1 attention and is very affectionate, enjoying giving and getting hugs and very tactile with others. She loves activities, being outdoors, going to the beach and parks. She enjoys swimming and trampoline parks and is very energetic. I am seeking a PA to support and provide my daughter access to the community with 1-1 supervision. This will allow her time away from home and her sibling. It would offer my daughter the opportunity to access social activities to help her build her confidence and enjoy new experiences as well as extending her support network The PA support will also allow me a break from my caring role as well as enabling me to spend some time with her brother. The successful personal assistant will be required to support my daughter in accessing the community, engaging in new activities and experiences wherever possible. They should be outgoing, friendly, patient, enthusiastic and energetic, which will support in developing her social skills and help build her independence and confidence. The role is to befriend and offer companionship to my daughter with a view to extending her support network and life skills
