About the Employer

I am both the employer and service user, who is in receipt of a direct payment to allow me the opportunity to employ a PA to assist and support me with daily tasks due to some of the limitations and difficulties I experience from my disabilities, and at times will require support with some of the care requirements of my young daughter. I have a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, Muscular Dystrophy and some mental health issues obsessive compulsive/personality disorder, anxiety and will require someone who has patience and understanding of the symptoms associated. I am seeking to employ a PA to support me with some personal care, domestic duties, managing and prompting of medication and administering medical treatments, and supporting with day-to-day tasks and attending appointments. as well as companionship and support to engage in my local community. II have some mobility issues and some difficulties with my fine motor skills due to my health conditions, the level of discomfort and support required will be dependent on how this impacts me from day to day, which can at times range from minimal to significant discomfort or pain, which inevitably impacts or affects my mood and motivation Due to my disability, I am unable to provide specific tasks for my daughter at times due to my mobility or pain and will require someone who is willing to assist and support with her care needs from time to time. Duties will include: • preparing meals • Emotional support and reassurance and companionship • support in making appointments, managing appointments and keeping an up to date diary • assisting me with the administering of prescribed creams/treatments /some personal care support • to assist with light house work duties e.g. washing, assisting with shopping and meal preparation, bed changing when required • Support with my daughter • social activities and assistance to engage in my local community • Assistance to appointments/medical reviews I am looking for a personal assistant who has flexibility and experience in the care sector. The candidate should show initiative and enthusiasm and have a good sense of humour and ability to engage with children I am looking for someone who has flexibility, are reliable and committed to providing consistency and care.

About the Role


Duties and Responsibilities
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.



The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Car driver preferred but not essential.

• Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
• Be self-motivated with a willingness to get involved.
• Have a lively personality.
