About the Employer

I am 66 and have had a physical disability since birth. Despite that, I have always led a very independent and active life, including raising four children and driving since I was 17. As the years have passed, however, my mobility has become more limited and I now need some additional support with day-to-day tasks. I experience: • Musculoskeletal pain and back problems • Severe asthma • Reduced mobility (I use an electric wheelchair when out and about) I still enjoy getting out, trying new things, spending time with family and friends, and making the most of life. A good sense of humour is important to me, and I would love to find someone who enjoys a laugh as much as I do. Looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference and enjoy your work? I’m seeking a friendly, reliable Personal Assistant to join my small team in Scartho. This is more than just a job — it’s about building a trusting, supportive partnership with plenty of laughter along the way. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting me to continue living as independently as possible, both at home and out in the community. I am looking for someone who is flexible, dependable, practical, and has a good sense of humour. A non-smoker is essential. This role is about far more than completing tasks. It is about building a trusted one-to-one working relationship. I like to think of my Personal Assistants as part of the family while they are at work, but confidentiality, reliability and mutual respect are essential. My first PA has been with me for over ten years and is only reducing her hours because of her own health issues. I am therefore looking for someone who can become a valued long-term member of our team. Interested? If this sounds like a role you would enjoy and you think we might be a good fit, I would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with a little information about yourself, your experience (if any), and why the role appeals to you.

What the Role Involves

You will support me with a variety of tasks, including:

  • Personal care, such as showering, dressing and toileting when required
  • Meal preparation and cooking fresh meals
  • Household tasks and general homemaking
  • Food shopping and other errands
  • Attending appointments such as GP, hospital and other visits
  • Supporting me to get out and about
  • Supporting social and leisure activities
  • Assisting with the physical aspect of correspondence, particularly filing and organising paperwork
  • Light gardening, such as planting pots, deadheading flowers and helping me enjoy the garden
  • Supporting the care of my pets, including feeding and occasional vet visits if needed

No two days are exactly the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role.

Additional Information

  • I drive and the successful candidate may be added to my vehicle insurance
  • A full, clean driving licence is essential
  • Having your own transport would be an advantage
  • Availability to provide occasional cover for sickness or holidays would be a bonus
  • Some flexibility is appreciated as needs can vary from time to time

Pets

My household includes:

  • Two elderly rescue cats
  • Two small dogs — a Cockapoo and a Poodle

You should be comfortable around animals and happy to help care for them when needed.

The Person I’m Looking For

You will be:

  • Honest, reliable and punctual
  • Respectful of privacy and confidentiality
  • Able to work on your own initiative
  • Patient, caring and supportive
  • A good listener with a non-judgemental approach
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Friendly, positive and approachable
  • Willing to become part of a small, supportive team

Previous care experience is welcome but not essential. What matters most is finding someone with the right attitude, a genuine desire to help others, and the ability to build a trusting working relationship
