Hours per week: up to 20 hours but I can be flexible for the right candidate

Available to work one day of the weekend at least twice a month.

About the Employer

Job Summary:   I am a young man living in South Warwickshire with my family. I am an active young person, neurodiverse, who loves video games and also loves many genres of music. I have an amazing sense of humour and can be chatty and fun. 

One of my biggest interests is languages and different cultures. I am fluent in UK and US English, Spanish (Spain and Latin America) and Italian. I am also fascinated by several other languages, including Chinese, Russian and Hungarian, and enjoy learning about different parts of the world.

I am keen to become more involved in my local community, develop my independence and build my confidence through social, recreational and leisure activities. This could include attending events, exploring new interests, meeting people, or simply enjoying activities in the community. Your role will be to support and encourage me to achieve these goals while ensuring my choices, interests and preferences are always at the heart of the support you provide.

Health Information:
I have epilepsy, and appropriate awareness and support will be required to help keep me safe when accessing activities in the community.

Requirements:

·        As my Personal Assistant, you will play an important part in helping me live an active, enjoyable and fulfilling life. This is a rewarding role where you will support me to get out and about, pursue my interests, meet people, and make the most of opportunities in my local community.

·        Your responsibilities will include:

·        Providing friendly one-to-one support to help me access activities and opportunities outside of my home.

·        Supporting me to enjoy a range of recreational, social and leisure activities, based on my interests and preferences.

·        Helping me discover, plan and take part in community events, activities and experiences, encouraging me to build connections, have fun and enjoy meaningful experiences in my local area.

·        Working alongside me to explore new opportunities, whilst promoting my independence, confidence and wellbeing.

·        Transporting and accompanying me to activities, appointments and community venues as required.

·        Providing flexible, person-centred support and undertaking other reasonable tasks or duties agreed by me or my representatives.

·        To transport me to and from my home and various locations as necessary. Mileage will be paid if using your own car  

Responsibilities:

·        The ability to work on a one-to-one basis outside of the home.

·        The ability to work flexibly with prior agreement to ensure continuity of service.

·        The ability to empower me in reaching my full potential in all aspects of independent social activities

·        The ability to communicate effectively with me and to put me at the centre of all you do whilst supporting me.

·        The ability to take responsibility for my wellbeing and safety.

·        To understand the importance of maintaining confidential information.

·        The ability to cope under pressure and in stressful situations whilst maintaining security and stability for me.

·        To be reliable, punctual, and honest.

·        To possess a full clean driving licence with business insurance and be able to drive a car for use in taking me between my home and various other locations.

·        To always demonstrate respect and dignity

·        The ability to always maintain the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in the performance of your duties.

·        Whilst previous experience of working with neurodiverse people would be preferred, all applications will be fully considered

Duties and Responsibilities



The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.
