About the Employer

87-year-old lady who lives independently in a welcoming, clean, and well-maintained bungalow. She previously worked as a community nurse and midwife, dedicating her life to caring for others. Following her professional career, she became the primary carer for her disabled husband until his death in 2021. Although physically frail and lives with osteoporosis, she is emotionally resilient, mentally strong, and determined to maintain her independence. Remaining safe and comfortable in her own home is very important to her, and she values any support that enables her to achieve this. Catholic faith is central to her life and guides her values, decisions, and daily routines. She is kind-hearted, respectful, considerate of others, and has a wonderful sense of humour that those around her greatly appreciate. Takes great pride in her appearance and enjoys having a tidy, organised, and welcoming home where family and friends can visit comfortably. While she likes to do as much as possible for herself, she benefits from assistance with practical tasks around the home and garden due to her osteoporosis. Enjoys keeping up to date with local and world news and is interested in what is happening around her. She particularly enjoys spending time with younger family members and values their company. Open-minded and adventurous, she is always willing to try new foods and visit different places. Greatly appreciates the support she receives from carers and values the care and involvement of her family. Their support helps her continue living safely and independently in the home she loves. Her goal is to maintain her independence, dignity, and quality of life while remaining connected to the people, faith, and activities that are important to her.
